Many modern commercial buildings require year round operation of their chillers, perhaps serving sensitive areas such as data rooms, telecom facilities and so forth, demanding the quickest possible change-over from old to new equipment with minimal, or even zero down times.
We, at Aircon Installations Ltd., have a great deal of experience in such cases, often changing pairs of chillers in three or four days from switch ‘off’ to switch ‘on’. This requires detailed planning well in advance of the project date, involving discussions with local authorities regarding road closures for cranes, off-site prefabrication of welded pipe connections, and with electricians, welders, commissioning engineers all ready and waiting to do their part when required.
On the day of the crane lift, usually at a weekend, we would have up to twenty personnel working on these projects at any one time, all working as a team to ensure a successful conclusion.
